ABOUT CHEF BAO

He's one of the most illustrious and creative Vietnamese-American chefs, a proud culinary Ambassador of his country.
His fusion cuisine has illuminated the America, which in 2003 awarded him as “Best Chef in New York” by New York Magazine @nymag 🇺🇸 his is a modern Vietnamese cuisine, which over the years has made many customers fall in love including many famous celebrities and head of states: Naomi Campbell, Mick Jagger, Helmut Kohl, Usher, Rachel Weisz, Michael Bloomberg and many others 💫

He has created and managed numerous successful restaurants. A very long road for someone like him who started at 11, helping his mother at their family restaurant. Following in his father’s footsteps, Bao went to study architecture in New York City. However, he always dreamed of opening a restaurant in the US so every day after school, he went to his adoptive family’s restaurant to cook.

He realized his dream in 2002, when he opened Bao 111: his first restaurant in the US, which has made him very popular. He later returned to Vietnam to take on the position of head chef for many renowned restaurants and hotels. In 2007 he won the award for Best New Restaurant (Mai House) by New York Times @nytimes and the Best New Asian Restaurant by @timeoutnewyork; in 2010, 2011 and 2012 the Michelin Bib Award (@obao_ny). He awarded a Michelin star ⭐ for Silk at Cocoon Club, Frankfurt, Germany, Best New Restaurant  2007 and 2 Stars ⭐⭐ awarded by Frank Bruni of The New York Times, #IronChef Vietnam in 2013, participated in the same program as super chef and in #MasterchefVietnam as a guest judge.

Chef Bao firmly believes that, in order to improve themselves, young chefs must travel abroad.
Today he collaborates at many 5 Stars hotels in Vietnam by creating delicate and highly customized menus for his elite clientele.
